A Harrisburg-area spa has expanded its evening and weekend couples massage availability after waitlists for the popular service stretched to nearly two months, a delay owner Renee Faust says was pushing prospective clients toward competitors with shorter wait times.

"We were the victim of our own good word of mouth," Faust said. "People loved the service enough to tell friends, and then those friends couldn't get an appointment for weeks."

The spa added a third treatment room specifically outfitted for couples sessions and hired two additional massage therapists trained in the paired-appointment format, which requires coordinating two therapists working simultaneously rather than the single-therapist scheduling most spa services use.

Faust says couples massage has become one of the spa's highest-margin services despite requiring double the staffing per appointment, since clients consistently book the spa's premium add-ons, including aromatherapy upgrades and extended session lengths, at a higher rate than solo massage clients. The expanded schedule adds roughly fifteen additional weekly appointment slots.
